Herceg-Novi
August 21st, Friday
A very fine, interesting day today, not a single dull or wasted moment.
Woke up at 4:14 am, placed an order for fruit/vegetables delivery as had not been informed about needed items yesterday, took a cold shower (it seemed that the water is getting colder that marks the end of summer). Aligned the spine rolling on a special ball, went through all of my morning routines: breathing, abc exercises, but all very slowly and gently as the spine feels kind of fragile, delicate after the Tuesday treatments. Made a feet massage for V-, left at 5:40 am, arrived at the cafe at 6:06 am.

Went to the sea first thing and did about 200 m swimming on my back, the water is getting slightly cooler - what a joy, I'm looking forward to winter sea baths very much!
Started my work at 6:36 am and actually never stopped till 10:30 am when I had to leave: there was a lot of baking, kneading, mixing, slicing, cooking porridges, serving pies and of course a lot of dish washing, all very fast, without pauses and breaks, but with no fuss. We are having more work these last two or three days because the borders with Serbia and Bosnia are finally open and a lot of people are willing to come to the seaside. Dimo, who came at 7:30 am, worked non-stop as well, but was absolutely prepared, focused and never broke anything today. Bojana came at about 10 am, she'll work the whole day, ten hours to get as much as she can and I hope she's strong enough to do it, as for myself I am absolutely aware of the fact that a ten-hours shift would put me off for a day or two.
But when I left and walked to Igalo, I immediately forgot about this morning and its speed because the nature, and the sea were so quiet, so soothing. Very few people at some beaches, silence and tranquility all around. It took me 30 min to reach Igalo, a very fine walk. Btw I took a breakfast box from home, but never had time to eat this morning so just carried it in my backpack all day. Though may be it was even good that I had not eaten so my body experienced the second acupuncture treatment with more concentration and awareness.
Though it was painful this time, more painful. 1.5 hours of acupuncture and cupping therapy, including three needles into the sciatic nerve on the left leg. Now the whole pelvis area seems to be very delicate and I am not sure if I should do an afternoon workout. Probably it's better to leave the body in peace till tomorrow.
Made the next appointment for Monday, 10 am. Also made an appointment with a TCM doctor for the 7th of September: he was taking his patients in the room next door and reading their blood check-ups, I liked his talk, I liked his energy and he seemed to me the kind of person you can ask for advice.
I just feel that it's the right time, the perfect time to do something about all those health issues that sometimes make an everyday life rather miserable. I might live differently if I want; and I want it; and I am ready to do something for it.
At 13:25 am we had coffee at "Tutto Bene" together with V- and Vesna, who works there. "Tutto Bene" is a tiny café on the stairs of the old city run by a very charismatic owner: every time I see him, I recall Italy, he has such a style. Vesna works for him and it was actually she who told me about Marko, the manual therapist, so we took a chance to thank her in person. We sat outside below the beautiful bougainvillea canopy covering the veranda and talked for about ten or fifteen minutes with her, she's an absolutely lovely woman. I was very grateful for this little break in the old town: it's a rare occasion when both of us unite for a cup of coffee somewhere beside our own café.
Had to lay down for a bit when got home as this sciatic nerve was rather disturbing, ate a third of a breakfast at 2:45 pm and decided rather to have an early supper. Tonight need to prepare for a weekend of massages and photo shooting: on Saturday we have Bojana, on Sunday there's Vesna and both sessions I am going to photograph so that we have some images to put on our studio website. V- is very busy with massages these last weeks and I am absolutely happy for him because he is very good at it, and I am happy for people that are treated by him. Weirdly I myself avoid to ask him about a massage and feel more comfortable with other people, but that's probably because we are a couple and are connected on so many different levels, and very often during a session we cannot properly switch to a "role" and continue discuss some business or personal matters, so no good in the end.
